Believers Beware!

“Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron..." (1Tim. 4:1-2 NKJV)

Many Bible scholars believe that the Apostle Paul was Timothy’s mentor. He instructed him in the faith, counseled him and was always very concerned about him – spiritually and otherwise. Here, Paul is sounding a warning, not just to Timothy, but to us, the body of Christ and anyone else who would read those words.

It is interesting to note that Paul said “Some will depart from the FAITH, not from the CHURCH! Many today are just "professing" Christians, not "practicing" believers. They attend almost every church meeting, give more offering than everybody else, act proper and righteous, speak the right "Christianese", but are not in the FAITH. Worse, some of the pastors where these people worship are in the know of the atrocities these "church goers" commit, but choose to keep mum because of the attending benefits they get from these "inner circle" members and "partners" of their ministry.

Secular humanism, anarchy, greed, lewdness, pride and their associates have crept in and infested the body of Christ, gradually eating it up like cancer without a cure. True brotherly love is only preached, not practiced. Faith is professed, but with a "backup plan". Yet, God is watching... He alone searches the heart and knows those who "truly" belong to Him. So, let's guard our hearts with all DILIGENCE because we are in very interesting times!

Jesus said, "Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved." (Matt. 24:11-13 NKJV) He also reiterates in His teachings that not all who call Him Lord shall enter the Kingdom of God. Believers beware!

"Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: 'The Lord knows those who are His,' and, 'Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.'" (2Tim. 2:19)

God help us all.
